О фильме: Современный монастырь в польской провинции. Здесь живут монахи Черёмуха, Слива и Черешня, пахнущие, как фруктовые деревья. Этот запах магическим образом действует на женщин и пробуждает в них эротические фантазии. В монашескую обитель частенько заходит хорошенькая парикмахерша Патриция, чтобы раздобыть хоть что-то пахучее у местных монахов: локон волоса, частичку одеяния… Она безнадежно влюблена в знаменитого актера Земана, уроженца этих мест, и мечтает с ним познакомиться. Изредка в обители появляется призрак молодой девушки, пахнущий жасмином. И живет в монастыре угрюмый и молчаливый брат Здрувко, повар, у которого найдется доброе слово и доброе дело ко всему живому – к человеку, к поросенку, к улитке. В монастырь приезжает талантливая художница Наташа, чтобы отреставрировать алтарную икону. Она привозит с собой 5-летнюю дочку Геню, которая быстро привязывается к Здрувко. Наташа — не только художник-реставратор, но и талантливый парфюмер. Она умеет создавать духи, которые обладают такими же колдовскими чарами, как и монастырские запахи. Наташа пытается разгадать тайну волшебных ароматов монастыря, и вскоре зрителю открывается загадочная любовная драма 400-летней давности, связанная с монастырем, а заодно и печальная история несостоявшегося замужества самой Наташи.

Loneliness on the Net hit all bestseller lists in Poland (over 300.000 copies sold). The novel has been translated into many languages and was brought to the Polish cinema theatres as a feature movie in 2006.

Janusz Leon Wiśniewski (born 18 August 1954 in Toruń) is a Polish scientist and writer mostly known for his novel S@motność w Sieci translated into English as Loneliness on the Netю
Wiśniewski holds a Master of Physics and Master of Economics, qualifications both from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Doctor of Informatics from Warsaw University of Technology and Habilitation in Chemistry from the Technical University of Łódź. He is one of the authors of the computer program AutoNom, a naming tool for organic substances in the IUPAC nomenclature
Currently Wiśniewski lives and works in Frankfurt, Germany.
